HEALTHIER FOOD OPTIONS FOR CLASS PARTIES
Compiled by the SJS Parent Wellness Committee
Many traditional class party snacks are loaded with artificial dyes, excess sugar, and unrecognizable ingredients. Class moms can change this! This list highlights healthier, allergy-friendly alternatives - most with minimal ingredients, no GMOs, and no artificial additives - while still being fun and delicious for kids. Let’s make class celebrations both fun and nourishing, while also reinforcing the idea that every meal at school is an opportunity for children to learn how food fuels and supports their growing bodies.
EASY, WHOLESOME SNACK IDEAS FOR CLASS PARTIES
- Fresh Fruit Options: Pre-washed berries, mandarin oranges, apple slices.
- Flavored Water Bar: Kids can customize their own drinks with orange, lemon, or lime slices, fresh mint, or a drizzle of honey. For younger grades, class moms or teachers can create their own flavor for their class.
- Homemade Popcorn : Lightly salted or sprinkled with cinnamon for a fun, crunchy treat.
- Parfait Cups: Provide organic plain or vanilla yogurt with simple toppings like granola, honey, or fresh fruit.
- Veggies & Dip: Baby carrots, cucumber slices, and bell peppers with an organic ranch dressing, guacamole or hummus.
